Our client is a fast‑growing energy transition company founded by a team of seasoned industry experts. The organisation develops and operates large‑scale stationary battery storage projects and private grid‑connection infrastructure for renewable energy assets in France.

Covering the full project lifecycle, from development and grid‑connection design to construction, commissioning, and long‑term operations, the company plays a key role in accelerating the deployment of clean energy. A major fundraising round in 2025 with a globally recognised investor now supports the next phase of growth and structuring.

As several battery storage projects enter construction and move toward commercial operation, the company is creating a new position: Asset Management Lead. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Technical Director and the Head of Energy Markets, this role will structure and oversee all activities related to operations, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and performance optimisation of the battery portfolio.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic, low‑inertia environment with deep expertise across all verticals of the business.

The role

1. Build and Lead the Asset Management Function

  • Define and implement all processes required to manage battery assets during the operational phase.
  • Establish the full asset‑management framework within the company in coordination with technical and market teams.

2. Manage Contractual and Regulatory Obligations

  • Oversee the technical and commercial execution of all asset‑related contracts (maintenance, optimisation, insurance, grid access, telecom services, etc.).
  • Maintain strong relationships with partners, asset owners, and public authorities.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, including permits, authorisations, and ICPE requirements.

3. Monitor and Optimise Asset Performance

  • Develop and track key technical and economic performance indicators with the Technical Director and the Head of Energy Markets.
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities and propose corrective actions in case of underperformance.
  • Support revenue audits and related invoicing in collaboration with the Energy Markets team and the Finance department.

4. Manage Incidents, Claims, and Disputes

  • Handle insurance claims and liaise with insurers.
  • Coordinate between operators and optimisers during unexpected events and propose arbitration when needed.
  • Contribute to resolving disputes with OEMs, operators, or optimisers regarding guaranteed performance or contractual obligations.

5. Support Financial Reporting

  • Collect and structure technical and revenue data for reporting to lenders and shareholders.
  • Ensure compliance with financing agreements and propose remediation actions when required.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree (Engineering or Business School with an Energy specialisation).
  • 5–10 years of experience in asset management of energy production assets; experience with electricity storage is a strong advantage.
  • Solid understanding of battery storage fundamentals (degradation, round‑trip efficiency, availability) and electricity markets (system services, spot markets, balancing mechanism, capacity mechanism).
  • Strong interest in building processes and structuring an activity from the ground up.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Rigorous, organised, detail‑oriented, and able to synthesise complex information.
