BESS Project Developer 

 

We have partnered exclusively with a leading international BESS developer that has delivered over 6 GW of PV and BESS projects across Europe and brings more than 25 years of industry experience. This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking to take the next step in your renewables career.

 

Location: North Rhine-Westphalia (Possibility for Remote working)

 

 Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the full project lifecycle from site identification to RTB stage.
  • Identify suitable sites, originate partnerships, and negotiate land agreements.
  • Secure grid access with TSOs/DSOs.
  • Oversee technical/environmental studies, permitting, and risk mitigation.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and internal compliance with timelines and budgets.
  • Handle co-development agreements.
  • Build strong relationships with authorities at all levels.
  • Represent the company in permitting discussions, consultations, and regulatory communications.
  • coordinate internal teams and external consultants across engineering, procurement, financing, legal, and environmental areas to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Support project budgeting, business cases, financial monitoring, and investment decisions.
  • represent the company in industry forums, fairs, associations, and with grid operators.

 

 Your Profile

 

  • Completed degree in geography, spatial and environmental planning, or a comparable field, ideally complemented by initial professional experience in project-based roles.
  • Solid understanding of the PV/BESS energy sector, including familiarity with regional planning processes, land use plans, and development plans.
  • At least 3 years of experience in renewable energy project development, working on the full lifecycle of projects.
  • Proficient in standard MS Office applications and experienced in working with geographic information systems (GIS).
  • Strong knowledge of planning law and technical project feasibility assessments.
  • Ability to work independently with resilience, while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Analytical mindset with a structured, detail-oriented approach to work and a high level of motivation and commitment.
