Manager, Energy & Renewables (Utility-Scale)

 

A leading energy and renewables advisory platform is seeking a Manager to lead and expand relationships with utility-scale power and renewable energy developers. This role sits at the intersection of developer engagement, market intelligence, and transaction support across solar, wind, battery energy storage (BESS), thermal generation, and emerging technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact to a broad network of utility-scale developers, maintaining regular engagement to understand project pipelines, pricing strategies, commercial structures, and M&A activity.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new development partners; maintain detailed profiles covering project portfolios, geographies, technologies, and contracting approaches.
  • Track market activity across VPPAs, physical PPAs, BESS tolling agreements, and other commercial structures; provide real-time intelligence to internal transaction teams.
  • Screen and diligence projects and development platforms; connect internal teams with appropriate opportunities and support deal structuring discussions.
  • Manage RFP processes, including developer outreach, proposal evaluation, and commercial comparisons.
  • Monitor regulatory, interconnection, transmission, and policy developments impacting utility-scale project development.
  • Oversee financial evaluation of projects and transactions by reviewing and validating model outputs and key assumptions prepared by analysts.
  • Partner closely with senior advisors and transaction teams across power procurement, storage, and M&A engagements.
  • Maintain tracking and reporting tools for developer relationships, opportunity pipelines, and market activity.

 

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-6 years of experience in renewable energy or power generation, with exposure to utility-scale development, M&A, or energy transactions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing developer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of utility-scale markets, project economics, and commercial structures (VPPA, PPA, BESS).
  • Ability to review and diligence financial models and valuation assumptions (hands-on modeling not required).
  • Familiarity with ISO/RTO markets, interconnection processes, and transmission considerations.
  • Excellent relationship-building, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Highly self-directed with the ability to manage a large external network.
  • Willingness to travel for meetings, site visits, and industry events.

They are looking to hire a Senior Development Manager to their team who will take on a mix of project focused and leadership responsibilities. Strong applicants for this role will have 5 and above years of experience in the development of renewable energy schemes in the UK industry.
