Role: Technical Asset Manager

Location: Swindon, England (Onsite)

The Technical Asset Manager will play a key role in maximising the performance of solar and battery energy storage assets. This position involves overseeing technical operations, ensuring high-quality reporting, and maintaining robust systems for asset documentation and data management.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Optimise the performance and lifecycle of solar and energy storage assets through proactive and preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Analyse large datasets from SCADA and related systems, transforming raw data into actionable insights to assess site health and performance.
  • Ensure all asset documentation and reporting adhere to industry standards and internal governance requirements.
  • Oversee key technical contracts (including EPC, O&M, and Asset Management agreements), ensuring compliance and performance across all operational areas.
  • Deliver accurate and timely performance and compliance reports in line with contractual obligations.
  • Support the continuous improvement and integration of SCADA systems, particularly during the onboarding of new assets.
  • Produce consistent internal and external reports on daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly bases.
  • Act as a central point of contact for technical performance and reporting queries within the operations team.
  • Monitor plant performance to ensure optimal operation and respond promptly to any identified issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities, manage purchase orders, and raise supplier tickets when required.
  • Liaise with aggregators, grid operators, and suppliers to resolve technical issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage warranty and insurance claims, including assisting with revenue loss calculations and related reporting.
  • Adhere to all company policies and industry standards, including environmental, health and safety, and ethical compliance frameworks (ISO or equivalent).

 

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a technical asset management or O&M role within the renewable energy sector.
  • Proven ability to produce clear, accurate, and detailed client and stakeholder reports.
  • Hands-on knowledge of battery energy storage system (BESS) operations, including performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and data interpretation.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to identify performance trends and develop improvement strategies.
  • Proficient in SCADA systems (experience with GPM SCADA or equivalent highly desirable).
  • Confident in interpreting electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Power BI.
  • Experience working with inverter and equipment brands such as Sungrow, SMA, or GE is advantageous.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent professional qualification.
