Operations Engineering Lead | Dallas, TX | $130,000 - $155,000

The Story:

Come join a rapidly expanding company in there new venture! A company who is one of the largest independent solar and battery storage owner-operators in the US. With deep rooted partnerships, they are continuing to grow and build there team and they are looking for a skilled Operations Engineering Lead.

The Role:

Oversee the design, retrofitting, and implementation of energy projects, ensuring effective coordination both on-site and off-site.
Communicate and collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including operations, maintenance, and asset management.
Manage engineering documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance during onboarding and operations.
Create guidelines for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of photovoltaic and storage systems.
Analyze equipment performance, conduct root cause investigations for failures, and recommend design improvements.
Develop training programs for operations staff and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards across all activities.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years in Solar Engineering, with a strong grasp of solar project technical characteristics. Experience in Storage Engineering is a plus. Background in other renewable energy projects is preferred.
Familiarity with conducting site visits and assessing technical issues in the field.
Proficient in reviewing commissioning reports, FAT reports, and diagnostics. Knowledge of renewable energy engineering documents and project agreements/permits.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's preferred.
Experience in preparing or managing consultants for load flow and grid studies related to interconnection costs.
Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC), FERC, and ISO standards.
Strong background in electrical power systems engineering, including experience with DC, AC, MV, and HV systems, as well as SCADA and control systems.
Proven ability to analyze failures, such as transformer issues and MV cable failures, with strong relay operations experience.
Effective written and verbal communicator, capable of interfacing with cross-functional teams and managing projects independently or collaboratively.
Demonstrated ability to enhance processes and create efficiencies.

Lead Electrical Engineer - Solar

Piper Maddox have recently partnered with a leading Commercial & Industrial (C+I) & Utility scale solar business to continue their growth within the Electrical Engineering group. This organization are leading the charge for the renewable energy movement in the Midwest region. They are a multi-award winning organization that provide affordable renewable energy solutions across a variety of industries. In this role, we are looking to bolster their existing Engineering & Design teams with the addition of a Lead Electrical Engineer and a Senior Electrical Engineer. In this position you will be responsible for tasks including: Preparation of all Technical Drawings, Technical Specifications and all subsequent studies. Completing regular reviews of all Electrical Systems across the Solar sites. Lead all layout design projects. Key things to note: We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer, someone with a mature skillset and deep understanding of real world Electrical Engineering challenges. Experience working on Commercial & Industrial (C+I) or Utility scale solar projects (minimum of 20MW projects). PE (Professional Engineer) certifications are a must bonus. A background working with customers to assist on the acquisition of the RTB permits is great.
