Exciting Opportunity: Communications and Events Manager at Piper MaddoxLocation: Chicago, Illinois, United StatesCompensation: $90,000 - $110,000, plus equity and a target bonus We are currently partnered with an exciting renewable energy IPP focused on utility scale solar assets across the US. The company has an highly experienced leadership team, bringing years of expertise and a track record of success from major developers and operators. The business is backed by a large sustainable investor that is a well-recognized leader. The capital commitment is enabling them to enter the market at GW scale. Due to the success of the company and growth, they are looking to hire an experienced Communications and Events Manager to join their team as they build out their community engagement division. Key Responsibilities:Event Management: Lead, coordinate, and execute a variety of events, from grant ceremonies and community BBQs to open houses and landowner dinners.Relationship Building: Build and nurture relationships with community leaders, gaining a deep understanding of their needs and concerns.Communications Strategy: Support communications across various platforms with clear, impactful messaging that aligns with the organization's goals.Social Media Management: Partner with the team to develop engaging social media content that speaks to the community and enhances the nonprofit's online presence.Community Support: Provide resources and information to local developers, helping them successfully execute projects that benefit the community. What We're Looking For:High Emotional Intelligence: You can connect with people from diverse backgrounds, listening actively and communicating with clarity and empathy.Event and Communication Expertise: 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit, community organizing, or similar fields with a focus on events and communications.Proactive and Strategic Mindset: You're highly organized, adaptable, and ready to take initiative in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Adaptability: Prior experience working in or with rural communities is a plus; if not, the ability to understand and engage with new environments is essential.Collaborative Spirit: You'll work closely with team members and consultants, ensuring cohesive efforts across the organization.
