Investment Analyst - Sustainable Infrastructure

Location: Washington, D.C.

A mission-driven investment firm with permanent capital and a strong growth trajectory is seeking a high-performing Investment Analyst to join its dynamic team. The firm partners with early-stage and growth-phase companies delivering environmental and social impact through infrastructure, clean energy, sustainable transportation, green buildings, and the circular economy. With flexible capital and the ability to write checks between $5M and $50M, the firm invests across structured credit, project finance, and equity-like solutions.

The Role

As an Analyst, you'll work alongside Associates, VPs, and senior leaders on all aspects of the investment lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluation through to execution and portfolio management. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role ideal for someone eager to build deal experience in a fast-moving, purpose-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and own complex financial models for credit and project finance transactions
  • Support diligence and underwriting for new investment opportunities
  • Conduct market research and analyze industry trends across sectors such as renewable energy, ag-tech, EV infrastructure, and sustainable real assets
  • Assist in preparing investment memos and committee presentations
  • Monitor portfolio performance and support ongoing engagement with existing investments
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, project finance, private credit, or private equity (internship-only backgrounds will not be considered)
  • Advanced financial modeling and Excel proficiency; able to build models independently
  • Strong academic credentials from a top institution (GPA considered)
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainable infrastructure, climate tech, or ESG investing
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive problem-solver, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Washington, D.C. (no visa sponsorship)

You should have experience in energy, renewables, or adjacent sectors:

  • Clean energy (solar, wind, storage)

  • Sustainable transportation (EVs, infrastructure)

  • Circular economy (waste, water, ag-tech)

  • Green buildings / environmental infrastructur

Preferred but Not Required

  • Experience with debt underwriting or structured credit transactions
  • Familiarity with green building, clean transportation, or carbon/climate markets
  • Prior involvement in mission-aligned or impact-focused investments

Compensation Package:
