Wind Specialist / Onshore Wind
Berlin, Germany (Hybrid Working)
A growing renewable energy business is looking to bring an experienced Wind Specialist into its technical team. The company is actively developing, upgrading and repowering onshore wind projects across Germany, with a strong focus on maximising the potential of existing wind assets.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in onshore wind and acoustic assessments who wants to take ownership of technical noise topics across projects, working closely with consultants, operators, authorities and internal development teams.
The Opportunity
You will become the internal technical point of contact for noise and acoustic matters across the project lifecycle, from early development through to construction and commissioning.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing noise related topics across onshore wind projects
• Coordinating external consultants and overseeing noise assessments from appointment through to final reports
• Supporting and coordinating noise measurement campaigns
• Carrying out yield and noise calculations, particularly using WindPRO
• Supporting aviation obstruction lighting requirements and ensuring wind turbines meet relevant requirements
• Reviewing noise assessments and other technical conditions attached to permits
• Working closely with project development, engineering, operations and external stakeholders
• Acting as a technical point of contact for consultants, operators and public authorities
• Identifying technical issues and developing practical solutions to keep projects moving
What We're Looking For
• Degree in Renewable Energy, Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Technical Sciences or a comparable discipline
• Strong experience within onshore wind, particularly around noise and acoustics
• Good practical knowledge of WindPRO, especially noise calculations
• Experience working with external consultants, authorities and other project stakeholders
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Comfortable taking ownership of technical topics and working independently
• Structured and solution focused approach to your work
• Ability to work effectively in a fast moving and entrepreneurial environment
• Fluent German, both written and spoken
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Why This Role?
This is more than a specialist position focused purely on calculations. You will have genuine ownership of the noise and technical approval topics across a growing portfolio of German wind projects.
You will be able to influence projects from an early stage, work directly with external experts and authorities, and play an important role in getting projects through development and towards operation.
The business is also in an exciting phase of growth, meaning there is plenty of scope to take on responsibility, develop your technical expertise and make a visible impact within the wider organisation.
