PV Design Engineer

Leading UK IPP working across Solar PV and BESS.

Location – Reading office (4 days per week in-office).

Salary – £35,000 – £45,000

A well-established and highly successful Independent Power Producer is looking to add a PV Design Engineer to their growing Operations team. Founded over 15 years ago, this business has built an excellent reputation in the UK renewable energy sector, delivering utility-scale solar and battery storage projects from inception through to operation.

Reporting into the Technical Design Manager, this role will sit within the Operations department and will play a key part in supporting the design and delivery of a strong pipeline of solar and BESS projects. With multiple projects ranging from 42MW to 70MW ready to build next year, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business at a pivotal stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the technical design of utility-scale solar PV projects.
  • Producing and reviewing layouts and drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Working closely with the wider Operations and Technical teams to support projects from development through to construction.
  • Contributing and collaborating with engineers on the electrical design of projects into the construction phase.

Your Profile:

  • Engineering background with a foundation degree or higher (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or similar).
  • Previous experience using AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and development.
  • A desire to work within the renewable energy sector.
