Piper Maddox is partnered with a leading power generation company that is looking to grow their nuclear power plant engineering teams in Ohio and Pennsylvania!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support plant electrical distribution systems (24VDC–345kVAC)
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and support operability evaluations
  • Perform post-work testing and minor design modifications
  • Support online work execution, maintenance, and emergent plant needs
  • Perform electrical engineering tasks (protective devices, cable & motor sizing)

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering (Electrical preferred)
  • 2+ years of related engineering experience
  • Power plant or industrial electrical systems knowledge
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

BESS Engineer

Piper Maddox are working with a fast-growing renewable energy IPP specialising in grid-scale battery storage projects across the UK and internationally. Their mission is to enable a smarter, cleaner energy future through innovative technology, expert asset management, and high-performing energy storage solutions. They boast an operational portfolio of over 500MW across the UK and plan to expand into Europe. As a Battery Energy Storage System Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering technical excellence across a growing portfolio of operational and new-build BESS assets. You’ll ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of grid-scale battery systems while supporting project, commercial, and O&M teams. Key Responsibilities:· Act as the technical authority for BESS assets, Power Plant Controllers (PPC) and SCADA systems· Provide day-to-day technical support for operational BESS assets across the portfolio· Troubleshoot issues with suppliers and O&M partners, driving quick and effective resolutions· Monitor asset performance and analyse system data to identify trends and improvements· Conduct fault diagnosis and root cause analysis for asset and grid events· Assist with supplier engagement, technical specifications, and design reviews· Support project teams during BESS and SCADA commissioning activities· Ensure compliance with grid, G99, and safety standards across all projects Skills:· Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s desirable)· Strong technical background in grid-scale BESS, renewable energy, or HV systems· Experience with electrical design, installation, or commissioning of energy storage or renewable projects.
