Salary: €130,000 - €140,000 OTE

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and commercially driven Head of Procurement to lead the procurement function for onshore wind projects across Germany. This is a critical leadership role that blends commercial negotiation, supplier strategy, and team leadership in a high-growth, high-impact sector.



You will take ownership of the full procurement lifecycle - from early project engagement and tendering through to contract execution and supplier performance - for wind turbines, BOP (balance of plant), and key construction packages.



You will work closely with project management, engineering, legal, and executive leadership to drive value, ensure timely project delivery, and shape long-term procurement strategy.



Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and project delivery schedules.
Supplier Management: Lead supplier identification, negotiation, and performance management, particularly with turbine OEMs, civil, and electrical contractors.
Contracting: Lead the drafting and negotiation of major supply and construction contracts (e.g., TSA, BOP contracts, EPC frameworks).
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact between procurement and project teams, finance, legal, and executive leadership.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance, commercially focused culture.
Cost & Risk Management: Ensure optimal pricing, lead contract risk reviews, and monitor market dynamics affecting costs or delivery timelines.
Process Optimization: Drive process improvement and digitization in procurement systems and reporting.


Required Experience & Skills



8+ years in procurement roles, including experience leading/growing teams.
Proven track record in onshore wind or energy construction projects (wind turbine, BOP, or EPC procurement preferred).
Excellent negotiation skills with a "fight for best price" mindset.
Strong experience with major equipment and construction contract negotiation.
Able to align procurement with wider business strategy and project goals.
Capable of navigating cross-functional project teams and corporate interfaces.
Experience managing teams, mentoring junior staff, and building high-performing procurement functions.
Fluent in German and English (essential).
Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
