Senior Grid Regulatory Manager

London based- 3 days a week in office, hybrid
Global leader in solar and energy storage development, management and operations

A brand new position with a leader in the renewables space, who has operations across the US and Europe, as they are now looking for the newest addition to their grid function. You'll be a key part to this technical function, operating across 19 regions globally. This role is truly sitting at the heart of the organisation and would be a brilliant opportunity for somebody looking to gain pan European experience.

The team has an extremely strong track record of success. You'll be joining a team that has successfully developed over 9 GW of solar PV already with a further 17GW in the UK in development stages. This is always increasing, seeing more pipeline being added to this, following on from the recent CfD rounds.

Over the last 15 years, the team has been going from strength broadening their capabilities to encompass the entire project lifecycle. They've been successful in this mission, now having accomplishments across development and building stages, through operations and management as well as asset partnerships.

The role:
This role sits at the heart of one of the most successful teams within the company. You'll be working as part of the pan European grid division, working closely with grid managers across different countries.

Your role will be part of the regulatory team within this grid function, communicating with the wider grid teams but also within the niche grid team you'll be part of. On top of this, you'll be working with external stakeholders including DNOs, TSOs and ICPs.

The main responsibilities include, but aren't excluded to:
- Monitoring and reporting on industry changes in connection process across the UK and wider European locations.
- Participating in work groups and associations on this topic too.
- Supporting on providing strategies around the grid connections for the group.
- Monitoring DNO & TO changes and upgrades.
- Collaborating with internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with requirements for grid code documentation across Europe.


Pan European experience is not essential for this role,but would be highly regarded. The same for language skills.

The main responsibilities will include:- Overseeing the lifecycle of grid connections - for this, you will require a DETAILED understanding of German laws and regulations. - Communicating with TSOs and other stakeholders - you must be highly experienced in this, with a proven track record of maintaining relationships with grid operators. - You will be technically involved with the development and planning of the network. This includes cable routes, network studies/feasibilities studies for load flow, compensation systems, etc.- As well as the planning and design of the grid connection, you will also cover this for substations and transformers at various levels, but particularly HV.- Working with external EPCs to develop and realise projects - this includes coordinating all those involved in the construction phase. What we're looking for:- A degree in electrical engineering or a similar qualification.- Experience in project management or construction management will be highly valued.- Someone who has worked in a growing company that is medium-large sized is preferable.- Experience working in a TSO is desirable, but not necessary.
