Senior Software Engineer - Autonomy (Subsea Robotics)

As a Senior Software Engineer are you passionate about autonomous robotics and solving real-world problems?

We're on the lookout for a Senior Software Engineer to join a pioneering team developing the next generation of autonomous subsea robotics. These technologies are transforming how underwater work is done, making it safer, greener, and more efficient.

Our cutting-edge tools and practices are reshaping the underwater industry, and we are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team of experienced marine roboticists.

Your Role:
You'll be working on innovative software that powers autonomous systems used in marine exploration. You'll be involved in everything from the design and architecture to testing and deployment, helping bring advanced robotic solutions to life.

What You'll Do:
* Design and implement cutting-edge software solutions for subsea robotics
* Deliver high-quality, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code
* Participate in field trials for subsea robotics systems
* Translate customer needs into practical, effective software applications

What We're Looking For:
* BSc or MSc in Software Engineering or a related field
* Proficiency in C++ or other object-oriented programming languages
* Experience with robotics middleware (e.g., ROS, DDS)
* Expertise in software & autonomy architecture
* Familiarity with unit testing and continuous integration
* Experience in mobile or marine robotics is a plus
* A standout candidate will have a public code portfolio (GitHub, etc.)

Salary up to £90,000 + equity + benefits.

Based in Aberdeenshire, with flexible working hours and remote working opportunities.
There may also be opportunities for international travel to remote testing locations.

Senior Grid Engineer
Germany

Senior Grid Engineer- Remote with MULTIPLE offices across Germany.- Up to €100,000 DOE (+ bonus + company car).- Global IPP, looking to grow their German grid division. My client has over 25 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, making them a leading business across wind, solar, and hydrogen power. With over €3 billion invested in renewable assets so far, they are growing rapidly! As their new Senior Grid Engineer, you will cover the grid aspect in the lifecycle of projects up until operation. You will be working on utility-scale, HV projects, and be confident in handling multiple projects in your pipeline at one time. In striving to be a huge global competitor, the company has great ambition to grow their teams. The business has over 1,000 employees across Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia! Within their European team, they operate in 4 countries, so you would have an exciting role to play in an international group. A key focus is within their German grid division, in which they are looking to hire a Senior Grid Engineer. Their global assets produce 1,800MW of power - their German pipeline has projects with over 15GW, including the company's largest open-space PV project! You would be crucial to the growth of their German grid team, meaning you would have the opportunity to make your mark in the business. The main responsibilities will include:- Overseeing the lifecycle of grid connections - for this, you will require a DETAILED understanding of German laws and regulations. - Communicating with TSOs and other stakeholders - you must be highly experienced in this, with a proven track record of maintaining relationships with grid operators. - You will be technically involved with the development and planning of the network. This includes cable routes, network studies/feasibilities studies for load flow, compensation systems, etc.- As well as the planning and design of the grid connection, you will also cover this for substations and transformers at various levels, but particularly HV.- Working with external EPCs to develop and realise projects - this includes coordinating all those involved in the construction phase. What we're looking for:- A degree in electrical engineering or a similar qualification.- Experience in project management or construction management will be highly valued.- Someone who has worked in a growing company that is medium-large sized is preferable.- Experience working in a TSO is desirable, but not necessary.
