About Us:

Piper Maddox is partnered with a business who is at the forefront of solar energy development, with 14 completed projects and more than 50 solar PV facilities in development across the Southeast and Midwest. They are currently looking for talented Accounting Manager to enhance our financial operations and support our growth.

 

Your Role:

As the Accounting Manager, you will be integral in managing and improving our accounting processes. Your role will encompass overseeing daily operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting. You’ll ensure accuracy and timeliness in our monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, while preparing financial statements and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accounting department’s daily functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure precise monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and lead initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency, including new processes and system implementations.
  • Assist the Vice President of Finance with tax filings.
  • Manage and coordinate the annual audit process.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the development of departmental and project-level budgets in collaboration with project developers and management.
  • Work with other departments to support company-wide goals.

 

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) with advanced Excel skills.
