Senior Project Manager - Electric Transmission (Remote)

Piper Maddox is partnering exclusively with a highly regarded, nationally recognized consulting firm in the environmental and energy space. They are seeking a Project Manager and Seller/Doer for Electric Transmission (level flexible) to join their growing energy practice. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a background in electric transmission and a passion for leading multidisciplinary teams through complex infrastructure projects from concept to completion.

The Role:

As a Senior Project Manager and Seller/Doer, you will play a critical role in expanding the firm's transmission portfolio. You'll leverage your technical expertise and existing client relationships to drive business development, manage full project lifecycles, and mentor high-performing teams. This position requires both leadership acumen and a hands-on approach, contributing to both technical execution and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage electric transmission projects, including routing, siting, permitting, and design.
  • Serve as a client liaison, cultivating new relationships and strengthening existing accounts with utilities and developers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality environmental and engineering services.
  • Provide strategic input to shape the firm's national transmission and renewable energy initiatives.
  • Oversee proposal development, technical presentations, and marketing efforts.
  • Build and mentor a diverse project team focused on delivering innovative and efficient transmission solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred in environmental science, planning, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in transmission project development, permitting, and/or consulting.
  • Demonstrated success in business development with a strong client network in the transmission sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory processes at the federal, state, and local levels, including NEPA and state siting laws.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects to successful completion.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
