Senior Transmission Settlements Analyst

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Full-Time | Permanent | Competitive Base + Bonus + Benefits

We are supporting a leading renewable energy developer and operator in their search for a Senior Transmission Settlements Analyst to join their back-office finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong analytical and energy market knowledge to play a key role in managing transmission and market settlement processes across a portfolio of utility-scale renewable assets.


The Opportunity

In this role, you'll work across the accounting, energy management, and risk teams to ensure accurate and timely validation of market transactions and transmission costs. You'll analyze ISO/RTO settlement statements, oversee billing disputes, support financial audits, and help improve internal systems and processes.

This is a critical function in ensuring the company is accurately billed, paid, and accounted for in a highly dynamic power market environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, validate, and reconcile ISO/RTO settlement and transmission invoices

  • Monitor pricing and volume data to ensure accuracy and flag discrepancies

  • Manage payments, invoicing, and reporting processes for market activities

  • Support internal audits and financial reporting tied to energy trading and transmission

  • Liaise with external grid operators (ERCOT, CAISO, etc.) and internal stakeholders

  • Assist with implementation and improvements of settlement and reporting tools

  • Lead or support resolution of settlement and billing disputes


Ideal Candidate

  • 3-5 years of experience in energy settlements, accounting, or market operations

  • Hands-on experience working with ISO/RTO statements (ERCOT and/or CAISO strongly preferred)

  • Background in the renewables or utility sector is a plus

  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills; experience with energy or ERP systems preferred

  • Detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to manage deadlines independently

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
