Overview
A leading global investment firm is seeking a senior professional to support and co-lead its London-based private equity platform. The role involves active participation across the full investment lifecycle — from deal origination to portfolio management and value creation — with meaningful exposure to the firm’s global private equity strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support in the overall management of the London private equity team, contributing to new investments, portfolio oversight, and fundraising initiatives.

  • Lead origination efforts, including market mapping, target identification, and maintenance of a high-quality advisor and intermediary network.

  • Oversee sector research, strategic assessments, and financial analyses of target companies.

  • Drive key elements of the investment process, including due diligence coordination, legal and debt structuring, management engagement, and internal investment committee preparation.

  • Represent the firm on portfolio company boards, contributing to strategic direction, performance monitoring, and exit planning.

  • Collaborate with the global private equity team to align with the firm’s thematic investment approach and broader strategic priorities.

Candidate Profile

  • 7–10 years of total investment experience, with a minimum of 5 years in private equity and a proven record of successful deal execution and value creation.

  • Demonstrated ability to originate investment opportunities through structured market mapping, advisor relationships, and off-market sourcing.

  • Strong transaction management experience, encompassing all due diligence streams, legal documentation, financing negotiations, and internal approval processes.

  • Board-level exposure, including stakeholder management, board materials preparation, and exit execution.

  • Well-established network of advisors, lenders, non-executive directors, and industry contacts.

  • Genuine interest in thematic and strategic investing aligned with the firm’s core verticals.

  • Exceptional analytical capability, financial modelling expertise, and commercial judgment.

  • Confident interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with senior stakeholders across internal and external environments.

As The Mergers and Acquisitions Director, you will lead the M&A strategy and deal execution for the entire business, overseeing a team of origination and finance professionals. Given the success of the platform, this is a brand new role within a highly successful team at the forefront of the energy transition space.
