Piper Maddox has been retained by a groundbreaking business in the CleanTech industry on a Chief Financial Officer search.


Our client is looking for an executive finance leader to drive strategic investment, fuel growth, and support the overall success of this organizations goals. The business itself is a Post-Series D innnovator in the Climate Tech industry, creating renewable products and sustainable chemicals. With plans to scale fruther manufacturing operations, and approach a public offering in the next ~3+ years - this CFO role will be one of the most critical and engaging of it's type across the sector.


The position:

  • Full scale Project Level financing of manufacturing assets
  • Strategic planning and execution - focus in financial strategy development and implementation
  • Massive responsibility for future IPO Fundraising
  • Investor Relations
  • Critical Budgeting and Forecasting


Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in leadership roles at high growth production/manufacturing companies
  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
  • Executive (or reporting to) experience of at least 3+ years
  • Proven track record in Venture Capital & Strategic Investment environments
  • Bachelors Degree; MBA, CFA, CPA preferred

They have a current development pipeline in excess of 5GW and have been operating internationally for over 6 years. Your role will be focused around securing continued external funding and the corporate structure internally to support this, as they continue to expand internationally and transition into an IPP model. They have successfully sold major project portfolios and reinvested these funds in their growth, and this role will see you spearheading their ability to supercharge this growth and begin their next phase. You will be responsible for the funding negotiations from cradle to grave, as well as being fully involved in structuring these financial agreements. You will also maintain and nurture the relationships with these partners and lenders, including both high street banks and private lending partners.You'll be a deal focused financial professional with strong experience of the energy sector, particularly related to securing or advising on funding for developers/IPPs.Essential experience:* Renewable Energy sector experience, ideally solar/wind/BESS* Experience of funding processes for RE sector businessesWe are open to applications from both existing CFO/Financial Directors as well as individuals with experience of securing structured finance ready for a step up.
